The reign of Queen Elizabeth is referred to the Golden Age of English history. She was one of the most popular Queens, and today is still admired.
Bio
Queen Elizabeth was born September 7, 1533 in Greenwich Palace. She was born to King Henry VIII, and Anne Boleyn. Elizabeth was a great disappointment in her father’s life because he had wanted a son. Elizabeth lived a hard early life. Her mother was executed for failing to provide King Henry VIII with a son. Over the next eight years she lived with several different step-mothers all leading in either death punishment, or divorce. Historians have thought of this as the reason she refused marriage. Elizabeth was given a very impressive education. She worked hard and excelled in her studies. She excelled in languages, and by her adulthood could speak five different languages fluently. After battling many times for the throne, Elizabeth finally did take the throne on November 17, 1558. It was a moment of supreme triumph for her being the unwanted daughter who had spent her life cast aside and unwanted. Elizabeth was determined to enjoy her new found freedom and live life to the full. She loved all sports, music, dancing, theater, etc. Elizabeth was very dedicated to her country. She was determined, and listened to others opinions. When she died at Richmond Palace on the 24th March 1603, England was one of the most powerful and prosperous countries in the world.
