Girls
· Elizabethan education was generally for the boys of upper and middle class.
· The upper class girls could also be given an education, most lived in the Nobility. · The girl’s education would mostly include housewives duties and sometimes music and dance. · Some even got the privilege of learning language · The girls were not allowed to attend school, they were tutored at home. · They were also not allowed to attend a university, like the boys could. · The lower class girls were not allowed to have an education at all. · Instead, they learned how to govern a household and become skilled in their housewives duties. · The girls were supposed to be more focused on getting married than having an education. · It was the boy’s job to get an education and work for the family. · Some wealthy families placed their daughters in another wealthy household so that they could be tutored. |
